What is a gill cyst

The gill cyst is a fluid-filled sac, possibly a remnant of the gill slit in the fetus. It is located in the upper half of the cervix below the lower jaw.

This cyst is painless unless it becomes infected.

In this case, the pus must be drained and the cyst removed.

The diagnosis is made by ultrasound.

The possibility of a malignant cyst is zero.
